Happy New Year

Hoi,

Hoi,

all the best for 2023, I hope you had a good start into the new year. From a sporting point of view, the last few weeks have been a bit disappointing for me, to be honest I’m glad that the New Year’s tour is over. On the one hand, I can’t call up my full potential yet. On the other hand, the conditions in Ljubno were just stupid.

Especially on New Year’s Day, the results just didn’t reflect my performance. Of course, ski jumping is an outdoor sport and yes, the conditions were challenging for everyone, but the constant gate changes, sometimes during duels, made the competition not really fair. My mood was bad immediately afterwards. Of course, I’m not in the shape I’d like it to be, but it hurts to get through like that despite a good jump. Eva Pinkelnig is currently in a perfect flow, very strong and I can only congratulate and cheer for her. Her performance inspires our team and me as well!

So the tour is done. On Wednesday we are off to Japan, where it went extremely well for me three years ago. These positive memories motivate me a lot, I’m especially looking forward to a big hill, decent jumps, the whole Asia tour and the next chapter!

Yours Sara Marita
